Make sense of your spending

Calculate what your life costs per day

Turn recurring expenses into one clear daily number.

Short answer

Cost per day = total yearly expenses ÷ 365. Example: 2,260 a month × 12 = 27,120 a year, and 27,120 ÷ 365 = 74.30 a day. The example amounts below add up to exactly that; replace them with your own.

The math, made simple

How the daily expense calculator works

Each expense is annualized, added together and divided by 365. Monthly figures use 12 months and weekly figures use 52 weeks.

Daily cost = total annual expenses ÷ 365
Average monthly cost = annual expenses ÷ 12

Starting from a monthly budget? The monthly expenses calculator turns your monthly bills into a cost per day. To spread a single bill, such as a yearly insurance premium, over time, use the cost per day calculator for one cost.

What the workday result means

The calculator compares average monthly expenses with monthly take-home pay and applies that share to your paid workday. It is a budgeting perspective, not tax or payroll advice.
