Frequently asked questions
How do I turn monthly expenses into a cost per day?
Multiply your total monthly expenses by 12 to get the yearly total, then divide by 365. For example, 2,260 a month × 12 = 27,120 a year, and 27,120 ÷ 365 = 74.30 a day.
Why not just divide the monthly total by 30?
Months have 28 to 31 days, so 30 is only a rough guess. Using 12 months and 365 days gives an average month of about 30.4 days. Dividing 2,260 by 30 would give 75.33 a day, slightly more than the 74.30 you get with the yearly method.
Can I add weekly or yearly costs too?
Yes. Pick how often each expense is paid. Weekly amounts are multiplied by 52 and yearly amounts are used as they are, so everything ends up in the same daily, monthly and yearly totals.
What should I include in my monthly expenses?
Include everything you pay regularly: rent or mortgage, food, transport, utilities and internet, insurance, subscriptions and other everyday spending. Irregular costs, such as a yearly bill, can be added with a yearly frequency.
Is my budget saved or sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser, and the amounts you type are not sent to us.
Does changing the currency convert the amounts?
No. The currency menu only changes how numbers are formatted. It does not convert exchange rates.
